Flea Pictures

Many people want to know what fleas look like so I’ll use the pictures of fleas below to show you exactly what they look like.   I’ve already shown pictures of flea bites in previous posts, but this one will be just about fleas themselves.

what fleas look like

Fleas, like other insects, have six legs.

Here’s a close up picture of a flea so you can see what they look like up close.  This photo has been enlarged so you can see the details of the flea’s appearance.

As you can tell by this picture, fleas are absolutely hideous creatures.  Their legs are scary looking and the hairs that grow on their backs make them look even more disgusting.

This picture will give you a good idea of how small fleas are.  As you can tell by comparison to this quarter, they are very small insects.  It’s truly amazing that something so small can jump eight inches off the ground.

Here’s a picture of a flea on someone’s arm.  If I was him I’d be getting rid of the flea instead of taking pictures of the flea.

Here is a picture of flea dirt in a dog’s fur and on its skin.  You can’t see any bite marks on the skin yet, but I’m sure there are some based on the amount of flea dirt in the image.

flea dirt

Flea dirt is basically just any kind of organic matter where the flea larvae feed.  It’s also known as flea droppings or flea feces because it’s what gets left behind when the fleas digest blood.  It’s pretty disgusting actually.

I hope these pictures of fleas and the picture of flea dirt have been useful to you.  If you want to send us photos of fleas or flea bites we would really appreciate that.  Keep an eye out for updates and more pictures of fleas to be posted soon.

Pictures of Flea Bites on Pets

It’s very sad for pet owners to watch their beloved pets suffer from flea bites.  Flea bites are a common cause of hot spots.  Pets claw and scratch and the fleas and at the site of where they are bitten.  The clawing often leads to the tearing of the skin which can lead to the skin getting infected.

I Hate Fleas

This website is entirely about some of the worst creatures in the world, fleas.  Simply put, I hate fleas.

fleas

I’ve always hated fleas and I’ve had several instances of getting fleas on my dogs and cats over the years.  Recently my niece bought a cute little puppy dog for her son only to find that the puppy was covered in fleas.  She only had the dog in the house for a few hours before noticing the first flea.  She immediately got the dog out of the house and got rid of it, but for three days now she has been driven crazy by fleas.

They are in her carpet, in rugs, in her couches and chairs, in her car, and worst of all, in the car seat for the baby.  Her son has already been bitten by fleas twice.   She bought flea spray and sprayed all the areas in her house and in her car but it hasn’t worked.  She called an exterminator but they couldn’t get there for a few days so she had to move in with her mother for a few days.

What should have been a joyous occasion of getting a new pet turned into a nightmare just because of a bunch of fleas.   Obviously people hate fleas because they bite, because they make animals itch like crazy, and I think most people are scared of fleas because they jump.

Anyway, now that I have explained to you thoroughly why I hate fleas, I’m going to provide you with as much information as possible about fleas, including: what fleas look like, how to identify fleas, how to prevent getting fleas, how to get rid of fleas in the house, how to get rid of fleas on your pet, and many facts about fleas.    I hope you find this information useful and I hope it helps you with your current flea problem or helps you prevent getting fleas to begin with.
